"All of the brain research says that children learn best through an experience and Kevin's programs give students an experience they remember long after he is gone." —Wendy Schatz, Principal, Notre Dame Catholic School, Cresco, IA
Award-winning artist, children's author and Minnesota storyteller Kevin Strauss has programs to help you prevent bullying, enhance critical thinking skills, inspire readers and improve writing skills at your school.
New Programs for 2013-2014
No one wants to feel the knot in the stomach you can get from dealing with bullies. But there are simple things every student can do to block bullies at school. Bully Blocker performances and workshops give students the tools they need to stop and report bullies and make their schools safer for everyone there.
Lasso some learning with the Reading Ranger. Once a hero of the west, this book-loving cowpoke travels the country to spread the news that reading books or hearing stories makes you smarter (just look at your average librarian). This interactive program includes stories, songs and western fun. "Git along little doggies!"
Explore the natural world with stories, songs and animal props in this interactive "virtual fieldtrip" program. Participants will hear animal folktales and real life stories about the animals that live in the woods and fields right near their houses. They'll even learn how to listen like a deer and howl like a wolf. "Ahhooooo!"
Tales with Tails Programs
Kevin's story performances are 45-minutes long and are geared to listeners in grades K-3, 4-6, 7-12, or to adult or family audiences. Kevin also offers 15-30 minute pre-school and ECFE programs for younger children.
